The “Garden of Cognition” Foundation has reached the final of the year 2023, filled with many emotions!
On December 22, in the local retirement club of the village of Novakovo, a meeting of the generations was held between the folk dance group “Novakovtsi”, which every Friday revives the houses of Novakovo, and a youth folk dance group from the city of Plovdiv.
During the meeting, traditional Bulgarian food and feasts for Christmas Eve, prepared by the dancers of the “Novakovtsi” group, were presented. Along with this, each young person held personal meetings with native residents of the village, who told them how Novakovtsi celebrate Christmas and what traditions does the village and its inhabitants remember. They shared a Christmas tradition and custom, their memory or experience from the past, passed down from grandparents to sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.
The folk dance group and the local Novakovtsi Group for Authentic Folklore at the Community Centre “Hristo Botev 1928” touched us with the magic of Bulgarian dance, song and folklore. Finally, we all finished with the new dance learned and caught up together, preserving in one before, now and tomorrow.
Children, young people and residents of the village took part in the meeting and became part of a kind of celebration of traditions and spirit of Novakovo.

The activity is organized by the “Garden of Cognition” Foundation in partnership with the local community center “Hristo Botev 1928”, Novakovo village, with chairman Vili Atanasova and secretary Spaska Kaloferova.
