Folk dance groups “Novakovtsi” and “Iskrentsi” group
In September 2023, Nikolay Nikolov – the manager of the Garden of Knowledge Foundation – launched the first meetings on the creation of folk dance groups “Novakovtsi” and the “Iskrentsi” group. With the support of local mayors and community centers, dozens of participants participated in the meetings and activities. Every week, our tanors enjoy the sounds of Bulgarian folklore and pass on the traditions of the younger generation. Over 60 participants are included in the folklore meetings, which boast over 25 learned people from the Rhodope, Thracian, Shopian, Dobrudzha, Severnyashki and Mediterranean regions. In addition to the weekly meetings, the groups participate in festivals, celebrations of significant holidays and folklore meetings throughout Bulgaria.
Committed to the idea of preserving Bulgarian traditions and customs, as well as reviving Bulgarian villages, they pass on their experience and knowledge to young and old.
