In the period September 11-14, a working visit was held in the city of Plovdiv by the Irish organization Kerry Diocesan Youth Service (KDYS). This was also a preparatory meeting for the upcoming youth exchange in Bulgaria, which will take place at the end of October and is part of a youth mobility under the Erasmus + program.
During their stay in the city of Plovdiv, our guests got acquainted with the activities of “Youth Center Plovdiv”, visited the Municipality of Plovdiv, where they were welcomed by Nikolay Bukhalov – Deputy Mayor “Sports and Youth Activities” and two-time Olympic champion in canoe-kayak The planned joint activities between the two institutions and the possibilities for long-term work in support of young people were discussed.
The project aims to raise environmental awareness among young people aged 15-18, and the planned activities are implemented in stages in both countries. With the implementation of a series of initiatives and actions, young people are expected to influence their surroundings in a positive way.
We expect our new friends from Ireland to visit us in the period October 27 – November 1, when together we will hold an international youth exchange with an environmental focus.
